The medium-sized mandarins have a smooth, relatively thin orange rind and tender flesh, traditionally described as seedless, although occasional seeds may occur. Delicious eaten fresh from the tree, they’re a wonderful addition to the family fruit bowl and a lovely choice for home gardeners who appreciate a naturally sweet mandarin.

Silverhill has an interesting history dating back to the early 1900s. Selected from Owari Satsuma by American horticulturist Walter T. Swingle around 1908, the variety was named and introduced in 1931. It remains an appealing choice for gardeners who enjoy growing something a little different, with the added charm of a heritage citrus variety.

A vigorous, upright citrus tree, Silverhill appreciates a sunny position and well-drained soil. With regular watering while establishing and feeding with a quality citrus fertiliser, it can become a rewarding addition to the backyard orchard. For Queensland gardeners, it offers the pleasure of growing your own sweet, juicy mandarins and enjoying fresh fruit picked straight from the tree. Please note that citrus trees can only be shipped within Queensland due to biosecurity restrictions.

(Citrus - QLD postage only)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0542/2756/6783/files/Mandarin-Murcott-1_dba19062-e3ed-4cad-b77d-9ef012f7aa64.jpg?v=1714280149
