Star Fruit trees - also known as Carambola, 5 cornered fruit and Starfruit - are an absolutely gorgeous fruit! They produce delicious, refreshing, sweet and juicy fruit.
A wonderful addition to the home garden or orchard.
When sliced, the fruit looks just like a star and look fantastic on a cheese and fruit platter, topping a pavlova or in a fruit salad. It can also be used in chutneys and preserves.
When mature, star fruit are heavy croppers - often bearing twice a year.
Please note that whilst starfruit are an evergreen tree in a tropical climate, it’s not unusual for them to lose their leaves in a cooler climate. They are frost sensitive and also react by dropping leaves during changes to their environment like a period of lower sunlight levels during transport.
