Lamb Hass is a very popular semi-dwarf variety and produces a large avocado with a very dark green slightly bumpy skin. Fantastic for growing in your backyard or garden and can also be grown in a very large pot ie 150 Litres plus. Its maximum natural height is between 3-5 metres when grown in the ground, and when planted in a pot will generally reach a maximum height of around 3 metres. You can comfortably keep the height of your Lamb Hass to 2-3metres with pruning. A mature tree will bear a large crop of nutty, creamy tasting fruit. As the fruit ripens, it becomes even darker verging on black.

Did You Know
Avocado trees can produce fruit with just one tree? They are essentially bisexual with both male and female flowers on the same tree, so with even just one tree planted it will give you fruit. You may have heard about Type A and Type B avocados. This refers to the times when the male and female flowers open and you can read more about the Avocado Pollination Types. There is no doubt however, that you will get more fruit if you have more than one avocado tree of the same Type - and more again if you have both an A Type and a B Type.
