The Manzanillo mango is a distinctive Mexican variety prized for its attractive fruit, excellent eating quality, and manageable tree size—making it a standout choice for home growers and collectors alike.

Originating from the coastal region of Manzanillo in Colima, Mexico, this variety produces medium to large, rounded fruit with vibrant red-yellow skin and smooth, golden flesh. The flesh is notably low in fibre, exceptionally juicy, and delivers a rich, sweet flavour with a pleasant tropical aroma, making it ideal for fresh eating, desserts, and juicing.

The tree itself is moderately vigorous yet compact compared to many mango varieties. It’s often referred to as a Dwarf or Semi Dwarf variety, typically reaching around 2.5 - 5 metres, which makes it well suited to smaller backyards and container growing.

- Benefits from applications of fertiliser as directed by the product you choose. NB we suggest applying fertiliser to the surface of the soil rather than placing directly into the hole

Top Tips for Growing
